Smart. Vivacious. Stunning. Timeless. These are the hallmarks of an Angie Hranowsky interior. Since publishing her first project in 2004, the Charleston-based designer has built an impeccable reputation for brilliant, intuitive designs that weave together the grace and elegance of her adopted hometown with rich layers of cosmopolitan sophistication, historical influences, and fine craftsmanship. Early training as a graphic designer honed Hranowsky’s natural talent and she continues to gain accolades for the freshness of her vision: her delectable interplays of color and texture, her chic mixtures of periods and styles, her astute interpretations of clients’ needs and aspirations. “I love what I do,” she says. “And I want my clients to experience that, too.”
Her extensive project list includes residences from Maine to Florida, Brooklyn to Austin—and features significant houses, intimate pieds-à-terre, seaside homes, and urban apartments. To every aspect of her work, Hranowsky brings an appreciation of place and period, character and artistry. She has been featured in Veranda, Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful, 1stDibs, Domino, Departures, Elle Decor and Luxe. She has been included as one of Elle Decor’s “Game-Changing Designers” and Southern Living’s “Top Five Tastemakers”. Her wallpaper line is available from Studio Four NYC.
Hranowsky’s own home is a modern glass-and-cypress structure she conceived and designed for herself and her family, and had built on a verdant spot by the Ashley River using native materials. Its design conveys warmth and ease while reflecting her love of modernism, a career’s worth of world travel and research, and her innate, avid curiosity.
